Your first visit begins with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Thomas. During this consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss your specific concerns and desires. Together, you and Dr. Thomas will create a plan that forms the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. The consultation lasts approximately 20 - 30 minutes and includes a complete review of dental and medical history forms.

Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your dental health.

Your first visit with Dr. Thomas also includes:

• Complete head and neck evaluation including the tempromandibular joint and check on any TMJ history. A thorough evaluation of the oral soft tissues including oral cancer screening examination.
• Dr. Thomas will thoroughly evaluate your teeth including the number of missing teeth, if there is any mobility with any of your teeth and finally note any existing restorations.
• Our clinical assistant will note any areas of concern or new decay, infections of the “gums” or surrounding tissues will be note for diagnosis.
• In order to see beneath the gums and between the teeth, we will take from two to five radiographic images, which Dr. Thomas will thoroughly review before your consultation visit.
• Our final data gathering will be to take eight digital images of you and your mouth that Dr. Thomas will have with him as he prepares for your consultation visit.
• For our patients specifically interested in Invisalign orthodontic therapy, Dr. Thomas will request some quick impressions for the fabrication of diagnostic models of your mouth.

Once Dr. Thomas has reviewed your dental and medical health history forms, and completed your dental exam, he will provide you with a dental consultation, and information about any additional dental treatments you, or your child, may need. During this time Dr. Thomas will also answer any questions you may have. We welcome any questions you may have, and are always available to listen to your concerns.

Bring your smile; but also remember to bring these things with you to your first dental appointment:

• Your completed Health History Forms
• Your insurance card

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining your healthy smile!

No matter what your age, visiting Dr. Thomas on a regular basis will help keep your teeth and gums healthy, and your smile bright!

The American Dental Association recommends that you, and your child, visit Dr. Thomas every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings; and we would love to see you here every six months to make sure that your smile is staying healthy!

We understand that you have a busy schedule, so while we like to make sure your appointments are informative, we also like to make sure they don't stop you from doing the things you love! When preparing to visit Dr. Thomas, please know that your appointment can last from 20 to 40 minutes.
